About Me
I share my home with my husband, two teenage children, many of their friends and a dog and cat. Like most families, we are busy with sports, school, family activities and enjoying the great outdoors. We moved to the valley three years ago and have completely fallen in love with the island. We lived up north in Prince Rupert for over 15 years where I enjoyed a lengthy career as a classroom teacher. We lead very busy lives and have managed to travel all over the Island. Our son is a rep hockey player so we have spent a lot of time checking out towns along the Island, some of which we would never have had a chance to visit had it not been for the hockey. Our daughter is in the IB Program at Highland which keeps her very busy and dedicated. We spend a lot of time at the beach, lake or up on the ski hill (when it opens). I have had the pleasure of working at Brooklyn Elementary for the past two years and just finished my first contract as a Boost teacher. It was an exciting opportunity which only solidified my passion for special education. With the end of my contract I have had to go on the TOC list where I hope to spend some time getting familiar with the other schools in the valley. EDPD 582 is my second to last course in the SETS program and I look forward to learning what sort of technology is out there to help support my students.
